Chrysalix Venture Capital, in partnership with Petronas, Malaysia’s leading oil & gas company, has launched an incentive challenge to find a safe and economically viable solution to inspect the tank bottoms of Aboveground Storage Tanks (ASTs) without any interruption in service and requiring no human entry.
Sounds like a job for an autonomous robot!
The team behind the winning solution will receive up to 250,000 USD for a 6-12 month project to demonstrate a proof of concept and a viable business case. Start-up worthy solutions will have the opportunity for additional follow-on equity funding of 1 million USD + from the Chrysalix RoboValley Fund.

Requirements
The Challenge is open exclusively to institutions in Chrysalix’s Academic Network: Carnegie Mellon, the University of Waterloo and Delft University of Technology. No specific qualifications or expertise in the field of the oil and gas sector is required.
