The journey towards electric and autonomous vehicles has already begun.

As of September 2020, the founders or 3Delft - 3 entrepreneurial students - are setting their sights on new adventure. In the meantime, selection has started of students who want to gain entrepreneurial experience during their studies.

How can humans and robots work productively side-by-side to plant, grow and process the fruit and vegetables essential to our diet? This question will be top of the agenda at RoboCrops 2020.

The AI for Retail Lab (AIRLab) Delft is officially open! PATS, the innovative startup company that develops small autonomous drones to keep crops insect free, receives an investment of 250,000 euros from the UNIIQ investment fund. The money will be used for further product development and to make the drones suitable for use in other crops.

Good water quality is important to humans and to nature. In a country with as much water as the Netherlands has, ensuring water quality is a very labour-intensive undertaking. To address this issue, researchers from TU Delft have developed a 'pelican drone’: a drone capable of taking water samples quickly, in combination with a measuring instrument that immediately analyses the water quality. The drone was tested this week at the new Marker Wadden nature area ‘Living Lab’.

Atmos UAV, the RoboValley-based drone manufacturer for mapping and surveying, continue to expand its payload options with the new MicaSense sensor “Altum”. Altum integrates a radiometric thermal camera with five high-resolution narrow bands, producing advanced thermal, multispectral and high-resolution imagery in one flight for advanced analytics.

The European Commission project DIH², part of the Horizon 2020 programme, will be distributing up to €248,000 to consortia consisting of technology providers and manufacturing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Caps to enable them to adopt robotics-related technology.
