The Rocsys robot can be retrofitted to any charger. Chargers with non-standard cables can be equipped with a custom-made bracket. The robot can handle all standardized charging connectors and (cooled) cables. The current systems are equipped to handle CCS and Euro-DIN. Other connectors are available on request.
Seamless plug-in navigation with computer vision
Computer vision is the main guiding principle for the robots. This technology seamlessly navigates the plug towards the socket.
The highly advanced vision solution is able to obtain 3D information with a single camera. This provides the robot with the information to robustly navigate the plug towards the socket. Rocsys’s deep-learning-based computer vision algorithms are trained to work under harsh weather conditions such as rain, snow, fog, and bright sunlight. Due to the integrated LED lighting, the system works day and night.

Rocsys was founded in 2019 by a team of experienced entrepreneurs with highly complementary skills and strengths: Crijn Bouman (co-founder of Epyon, a fast-charging station and Vice President at ABB), Joost van der Weijde (PhD in soft robotics and co-founder of SpringScan), and Kanter van Deurzen (co-founder of Fizyr, a computer vision technology company). A strong foundation to create innovative solutions for autonomous charging.
In 2021 Rocsys raised 6.3 million dollars (5.25 million Euros) in a round led by Forward.One. This investment provided a solid basis to scale up our activities in Europa and in North America.
