The Question

In neonatal and pediatric intensive care, caregivers face the dual challenge of high workloads and the need for absolute precision in feeding preparation. Preparing and dosing breast milk is time-consuming and repetitive, yet staff are already under constant pressure to give critical attention to fragile patients. How can this essential but demanding task be made easier without compromising reliability or safety?

Our Answer

The Neollie student team (which formed during the Robotics Minor Program at RoboHouse) developed an automated system that processes and doses breast milk with high reliability and accuracy. By taking over this time-consuming responsibility, our design lightens the pressure on caregivers, allowing them to focus more on direct patient care while trusting that feeding preparation is handled with precision.
